🤝 Outreach

Founded in 1891, Peniel United Methodist Church has served many generations of local families and the surrounding community. Although we are a small country church, our various ministries help impact the country at large. From our unique teddy bear ministry to supplying school children with backpacks, school supplies, winter coats, and warm clothing, we strive to bring help and comfort to those in need. Along with weekly food and supply donations to the local Food Pantry, several of our church members volunteer their time working there on a daily basis.

We believe Jesus has (in no uncertain terms) called us to love our neighbors on many occasions, including in Matthew 25.

Food Pantry

The church has 5 members who work weekly in the pantry and one is the main person buying the food the church. We have a large drive for school supplies, back packs, and winter coats.

At Christmas time a clothing tree is used to gather socks, underclothes, and all types of warm outerwear.

14th and Chestnut

We are involved with 14th and Chestnut Center, a place to serve children in poverty that has a clothes closet. Breakfast and lunch are given during the summer months. When school is in session, they offer after-school help with homework. And a they provide food for supper and a time for games.

Teddy Bear Ministry

We collect teddy bears, store them on the ends of the pews, and take them to people in the hospital when we visit.
